Every balaclava in the first series is numbered by hand when it is packed, in the order the orders come in. It ships with a certificate card carrying its number, its colourway and the workshop where it was knitted, in Porto.

Our aim is to make the best piece we can, at the fairest price possible. European clothing heritage should remain open to as many people as possible, not become a luxury reserved for a few.

The material
100% Portuguese cotton, naturally.
A balaclava is worn directly against the face and neck. Material is not a detail, so we chose Portuguese cotton for its softness, resilience and everyday simplicity.
Soft against the face
Cotton feels soft against the face and neck, so the balaclava can be worn for hours without demanding attention.
Easy to care for
A familiar material that is simple to wash and develops character with use rather than requiring complicated care.
A natural fibre
We chose a clear cotton composition to keep synthetic fibres out of the garment as much as possible.

A dense Portuguese cotton, knitted to hold for years rather than a season. That's our answer to fast fashion.

Aran cables
Morrigan draws on Aran cables, the rope reliefs that knitters on the Irish islands worked by hand for generations. Each cable long had its own name and reading.
We brought them back onto a piece worn over the face, in Portuguese cotton knitted in Porto. The relief structures the volume; the eye follows the cable.

Less warm, on purpose
Unlike Skadi, Morrigan isn't double-thickness jacquard. The Aran knit, single thickness, breathes more.
That's an advantage when it isn't freezing: you keep the piece on without overheating, in mid-season or in the city, where double thickness would be too much.

Is the price final?
Morrigan is offered at €59 during the pre-order, then €65 once available in stock. Payment is taken at checkout.
Is Morrigan made of wool?
No. The confirmed composition is 100% Portuguese cotton, knitted in Porto.
Is Morrigan as warm as Skadi?
No, and that's intended. Morrigan is single-thickness Aran knit, not double-thickness jacquard: it breathes more and suits milder cold and city wear. For deep cold, prefer Skadi, Frosthelm or Caledon.
Which size should I choose?
Morrigan is one size. The stretch knit fits most head sizes; the flat measurements are listed below.
When does it come out?
Available for pre-order, with shipping estimated between November and December 2026. The waitlist is notified as soon as a firm date is set.
Can I change my mind after ordering?
Yes. You have a 14-day right of withdrawal after delivery, under French law.
How is it made?
Each piece is knitted in Porto, Portugal, in a partner workshop. The pattern is built into the knit, not printed.
