Folkovar is two people, a group of friends around them, and the trails of Europe. We make clothes for those walks, starting from what people here wore before us.

One balaclava, one land

Each piece starts from a garment or a pattern that really existed: the Selbu star, Aran cables, a Viking helmet, Highland tartan. Its page tells where it comes from.

Made for walking

We wear them on the pass, at camp, then in town on Monday. Portuguese cotton, knitted in the Ave valley, northern Portugal.

Small and slow

Two people, a first numbered series, no new collection every three months. What sells today pays for the next piece.
